Kenya Photographic Safaris with Robert Winslow
Detailed Itinerary at

Here are some unsolicited comments from travelers on previous Robert Winslow Kenya Safaris.
"The trip for us was sooo much more than a photo safari even though we both feel we have pictures that will always recollect fond memories. To us it was a travel back in time, a cultural awakening, and the opportunity of a lifetime. Neither of us have any recommendations or suggestions except to say it was perfect. I think the people, although varied with different agendas and travel experience did well together. You put together a real winner and you should be proud. "
"Wow! What a great trip. I have had a chance to reflect somewhat on the trip and there are many many highlights and wonderful memories. Thanks Bob for all your hard work in planning and making the trip so perfect. David, Zack and Stanley, the best safari guides in all of Africa, made the trip perfect in more ways than I can say. And thanks also to the "best group ever" for making the trip fun and delightful. Each of you brought your own special talents and interests to the trip making it the best safari ever. Thanks again to all of you for making this trip of a lifetime a fabulous success. "
"For me if was life-changing. I do not believe that I will ever take for granted our blessing for living in this great country. Our guides were the best and made our adventures even more incredible. We both thought the group was great even though we brought our own venues into it."
"We did indeed hit the jack pot with guides didn't we! I can't say enough about the trip as a whole and especially about the guides. The two of us have talked and talked about it and to anyone else who happens to be near by and will stand still and listen! "
"Robert just wanted to say what a fantastic trip! Guess it gets an A Plus. You thought through things so well, had great guides, and the folks just all sort'a fit together. All in all, it was an unexpected delight all the way round, the people, the animals, the food, the shopping, and the accommodations! That about says it all.
Thanks for all your time and planning."
The 2006 and 2007 African Safaris were fully booked and a very special time was had by all. The 2008 Safari was not fully booked due to the economy and fears of unrest after the elections in Kenya. It quite possibly was the best one ever. Due to scheduling problems, we are not offering a 2009 Kenya Safari. The 2010 Kenya Safari should be a wonderful and varied experience with a couple of new destinations and lodges added to our agenda.
The word “safari” in Swahili means journey. We seek to offer a high quality exclusive experience. Our drivers/guides are the very best. They drive for the top wildlife photographers in the world. They will pull up to an animal not just so that you can see it, but they will park their vehicle in the best possible position taking into consideration available lighting and composition. We seek to offer the best all around journey by ensuring that we travel in comfortable, reliable custom-built vehicles. Our safaris are limited to only three photographers per nine-passenger Land Rover. These vehicles are modern, custom-built, four-wheel drive Land Rovers specially designed for comfort and to ensure easy observation and photography. Each person will have their own row of seats, a roof hatch and windows on both sides. No one is assigned to a vehicle for the entire trip. Everyone rotates through each vehicle so that everyone has a chance to travel and photograph with each driver, everyone in the group and to shoot with myself and the other experienced photographers on the trip. Our safari is not the usual ten to twenty-five person safari jammed with six passengers to a vehicle. Our much smaller safari of three to nine people provides great photographic opportunities for everyone in a much more intimate atmosphere.
Having some of the highest concentrations of wildlife anywhere, Kenya is one of the best places in the world to view and photograph wildlife. Kenya is considered the best African country for quality game viewing and wildlife photography. The country offers a diversity of environments, is safe (although problems can arise anywhere at anytime-even in your own hometown) and the wildlife is used to having safari vehicles nearby.
Once we are in Kenya we want to take advantage of being there. Many safaris try to do too much in too short a period of time. Our safari is designed for photographers, nature lovers, and anyone keenly interested in wildlife and who wants to experience in-depth and intimate animal viewing in a variety of different ecosystems and habitats.
We realize that for many of you this is a “once in a lifetime” trip and we want to offer the very best quality experience available. This is not a typical safari for tourists. It is a safari for anyone who wants to really do a safari in the best way possible. We stay at excellent lodges and tented camps offering excellent accommodations and meals and situated within excellent game viewing areas. All accommodations have “ensuite” private bathrooms with flush toilets, showers and hot and cold running water.
Robert Winslow is a national award winning photographer who has had many thousands of photographs published in numerous magazines, books, calendars, posters, advertisements, gift cards and other items. The 2010 Kenya trip will be Robert’s eleventh to Kenya and thirteenth to Africa.

Proposed Kenya Safari 2010
Below is a proposed itinerary for our 2010 Kenya Safari.
We attempt to offer an excellent value for the money especially considering the recent devaluation of the US dollar, the length of the safari, the quality of the guides, the personal and intimate nature of our safaris, the quality of the accommodations and the diversity of the environments that we will be visiting. We stay at excellent lodges offering excellent accommodations, meals and service. Because our safaris only takes a maximum of nine people, they are not the cheapest ones that can be found, but I feel proud that I can offer the very best value for the money. We keep expenses down by not advertising (it’s all done by word of mouth and many are repeat travelers) and not having any “middle-man”. I work directly with the folks in Africa and do not work through a booking agent here in the United States. Since we only travel with three persons/vehicle (most other safaris have six to nine persons/vehicle) our costs are a bit higher per person if we do not fill a vehicle. The cost per/person is slightly less with nine travelers than it is with six because the overall group expenses are shared by a larger number of people.
Because reservations for the lodges fill sometimes a year or more in advance it is important to lock in these rates now before they go up and before the lodges are fully booked for 2010.
Even though everyone comes to see the animals, what everyone experiences is that our safaris are special because of the intimate interaction with our very personable and knowledgeable guides and the other Kenyans that Robert knows.
